The Astronomers

Yes, we’re stargazers! In fact, Patricia Lampens is a professional research astronomer, working at the Royal Observatory in Brussels. Her main research topics are pulsating stars and binary stars, and a combinations of these two: binary stars with a pulsating component. See Patricia’s publications here.

Paul Van Cauteren is a long time amateur astronomer. Teaming up with Patricia led him to start with ccd-photometry of short-period pulsating stars. This resulted in a cooperation with other professional astronomers and fellow amateur-photometrist. To see a list of his refereed publications, click here.
