April-May 2022, Belgium. Bird watching can be fun, even close from home. You have to observe (from a distance), something we learned from astronomy, and stay quiet, then you spot them… Grey heron, finch and jay!
January 2022. Last November, we spotted cranes flying Southbound. This month, this small group of about 50 birds was observed flying Northbound.

Dec. 30th, 2021, East-Belgium. Although the main part of this year’s crane migration occurred months ago, small groups still undertake the journey to sunny Spain. Coming from Scandinavia or Northern Germany, these birds may stop here to rest and feed. We spotted a group of about 200 cranes, both adults and youngsters, during these last days of 2021.
Dec. 26, 2021, Belgian Ardennes. Fallen trees, stacks of branches in the river, fresh woodwork, all these are evidence for inhabiting beavers… White egret and grey heron are also present in this natural chaos fed by the wild waters of a small, meandering river.
Oct. 31st, 2021, High Fens. A short, intense walk in the high moors region with the wind, clouds and bright forest colours brought us the feeling of autumn.
Le Thot, Sep 9th, 2021. The European grey wolf is the latest asset of this thematic park which is entirely dedicated to the animals from prehistoric times… whle the Tarpan horses enjoy each other’s company.
